Richard Watson, MD

Richard Watson, MD is a board-certified ophthalmologist and fellowship-trained vitreoretinal surgeon. He completed medical school and ophthalmology residency at Tulane University, followed by a two-year retinal surgery fellowship at West Virginia University.

Dr. Watson previously served on the faculty of Harvard Medical School and practiced at Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary before moving to the Birmingham area in 2020. He is a member of the American Society of Retina Specialists, the American Academy of Ophthalmology, and the Vit Buckle Society, and is a diplomate of the American Board of Ophthalmology.
